Your Program

It hurts when I exercise — should I continue?

If an exercise causes sharp or increasing pain: stop.

Some muscle fatigue and mild discomfort during rehabilitation is normal — that's tissue adapting. The following are not normal:

  • sharp or stabbing pain during the movement,
  • pain that gets worse with each repetition,
  • swelling after exercising,
  • pain that lingers for hours afterwards.

What to do

  1. Stop the exercise that hurts. You can usually continue the rest of the session unless your therapist said otherwise.
  2. Message your therapist — open the Messages tab and describe which exercise, where it hurts and when (during the movement, after, next morning). They prescribed your program and can adapt it quickly.
  3. For severe or alarming symptoms, contact your doctor or emergency services.

Move8 support can help with technical problems (logging in, videos, billing), but we cannot give medical advice — your therapist knows your case.

Still stuck? We're happy to help directly.
